The Adjust Palette tool in KColor gives you powerful control over your entire color palette. Whether you want to shift the mood slightly or overhaul the tone entirely, this feature lets you make global changes with precision.
How it works
Click the Adjust button in the top bar to open the adjustment panel. You’ll see your full color palette displayed along with three sliders below: Hue, Saturation, and Luminosity.
Hue
Use the Hue slider to shift the entire palette around the color wheel. This keeps the relative relationships between the colors intact while changing their base tones. Great for experimenting with new themes or matching brand colors.
Saturation
The Saturation slider adjusts the intensity of the colors. Lower saturation gives a more muted, pastel effect, while higher values create bolder, more vibrant tones.
Luminosity
With the Luminosity slider, you can brighten or darken the entire palette. This is ideal when adapting a theme to light or dark UI modes or refining visual contrast.
Apply or cancel
Once you’re happy with your adjustments, click Apply to update your palette. If you want to revert to the original version, simply click Cancel to exit the panel without saving changes.
Why use it
The Adjust Palette panel streamlines experimentation. Instead of tweaking each color individually, you can create an entirely new color direction with just a few slider movements—perfect for rapid prototyping or refining design systems.
